What San Diego contractors ask us.
What insurance does a San Diego right-of-way permit require?
The City’s DS-3037 requirements call for commercial general liability of $1M per occurrence, including completed operations, and $1M of contractors pollution liability.
What do City of San Diego contracts require?
City contracts commonly require general liability, workers’ comp and auto at $1M, the City as additional insured using CG 20 10 and CG 20 26 endorsements, and a workers’ comp waiver of subrogation. Each contract states its own terms.
Do independent contractors need a San Diego business tax certificate?
They do. The Treasurer’s rule names independent contractors explicitly, so a sole-proprietor electrician or painter working in City limits registers too.
Can you add a general contractor as additional insured?
In most cases, yes, by endorsement. Share the contract’s insurance section so the right form is used.
Do you insure contractors outside the City of San Diego?
Yes. We work with contractors across San Diego County and the rest of California.
