Sharp, Scripps, UC San Diego Health, and Kaiser each work with different Medicare plans. We start with the doctors and hospital you already use, then compare the plans that include them.
Tell us which doctors and hospital you use, and a licensed agent will follow up by phone or video with plans that include them.

About 205,000 San Diego residents are 65 or older, and most choose a plan based on where they already get care.
| Your situation | What to check | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Sharp or Scripps patient | Which medical group your doctor belongs to | In San Diego, the medical group often matters as much as the plan name. |
| UC San Diego Health patient | Original Medicare or a participating Advantage plan | UC San Diego Health accepts Original Medicare with any Supplement, plus a shorter list of Advantage plans. |
| Kaiser member | Kaiser's own Medicare plans | Kaiser care generally comes through Kaiser's Medicare Advantage plans. |
We look up which medical group your doctor is in, then match it to plans, so there are no surprises when you book an appointment.
Many San Diegans spend time in Mexico. We explain what Medicare does and doesn’t cover outside the U.S. before you choose.
Before Annual Enrollment, we confirm your medical group is staying in your plan’s network for the coming year.
Original Medicare generally doesn’t cover care outside the U.S., with a few narrow exceptions. Some Medicare Supplement plans include foreign travel emergency coverage, and some Medicare Advantage plans include worldwide emergency care. If you cross the border often, that’s worth comparing before you enroll.
UC San Diego Health accepts Original Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans, plus a select group of Medicare Advantage plans. Participation can differ by plan and service, so we confirm your specific doctors before you compare.
Many San Diego Medicare Advantage plans work through medical groups, and your primary care doctor’s group often decides which specialists and hospitals you can use. Two plans from the same carrier can include different groups.
VA health care and Medicare are separate programs. VA care is generally used at VA facilities like the VA San Diego Medical Center in La Jolla, while Medicare covers care at other doctors and hospitals. Many veterans keep both for flexibility, and delaying Part B can mean a late enrollment penalty later.
We’re based in Oceanside, in North County, and every appointment happens by phone or video. That way you can review plans from home, anywhere in the city.
Share your doctors, medical group, and prescriptions, and a licensed agent will lay out the plans that include them by phone or video.
